What is CC.ca?
Cultureconsultants.ca is a bilingual website that allows professional consultants who specialize in working with the cultural sector to register a profile of themselves and their specialties free-of-charge. Cultural organizations can visit the website to search for a consultant who will meet their needs.
How is it different from other job search websites?
Cultureconsultants.ca is a more customized search portal offering cultural organizations a more direct way to find consultants with a specialized skill set while providing professionals with increased business opportunities. All of the consultants found on CultureConsultants.ca are experienced professionals that specialize in working with the one or more cultural sectors. Each registered consultant is screened before they can be registered. They must agree to abide by the Statement of Values found on the website and each profile is reviewed by the Culture Consultants Administrator prior to being published on the site.
How does a consultant register with the site?
By going to the website and clicking on “register”. They must read and agree to the Statement of Values, and they must agree to the Term of Use policy before they can register. They then complete a registration form that can take about 30 minutes to fully complete. There is no cost to register. They can pause their registration and return later to complete and submit. Once the administrator has reviewed their profile and accepted it as meeting the basic requirements – it will be published to the database.
Who is eligible to register?
A consultant should have a minimum of three years of experience working in at least one cultural sector, as a professional consultant. People from outside of Canada can also register, however, they must have some Canadian experience. For example: someone from Europe may register because they have done tour management for a Canadian artist touring abroad.
How does a Cultural Organization register with CC.ca?
Organizations do not need to register, they are free to visit the site and conduct a search for a suitable consultant. We encourage Cultural organizations and others to post Requests for proposals which are free to post, and will be seen by the Cultural Consultant community.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost to register, and there is no cost for searching the site. There are no charges at all for using the website.
Will there ever be a charge to use the website?
Part of the four year plan for CC.ca is to put a plan in place the ensure sustainability. This may mean that there will be corporate sponsors or advertisers that will pay to promote their services on the site. Or there may be premium listings added in future to generate sufficient revenue to pay the on-going costs for the site.
How current is the information?
We will strive to ensure that consultant profiles are kept current. The website will send automated reminders every six months sent to the consultants to remind them to keep their profile current.
How often is the information updated?
The consultant profile updates are done as often as a consultant chooses. New consultant entries are anticipated every week for the next year. The website has an automated feature that will contact consultants to remind them to maintain ad update their profile.
What special features does the website have?
A consultant can upload an image, and have a link to their own website. The search can be conducted in a variety of ways, by region, by name, by sector, by specialty and by keyword. The administrator has an easy to use interface that allows access to the database to maintain it.
How do you ensure privacy for the consultants who are registered?
The site was designed to follow the Privacy Laws in Canada and this is why it is important that anyone registering their personal information read the Privacy policy and terms of use. We will not share the information contained in the CC.ca database with any other party.
Why the lengthy terms?
To ensure that we are protecting personal privacy and that anyone registering their information understands the terms under which their information will be used.
Is it difficult to run a search?
Very easy, with multiple ways to search. By region, by language, by name, by sector, by specialty, by keyword. and by cultural sector.
Why was the website created?
Many cultural organizations need specialized help to conduct business. CC.ca creates an arms length third party solution so that funding agencies that grant money to cultural organizations can ensure that these organizations can reach out to specialists that offer professional services to meet their needs.
